At Nanophotonics and Quantum Devices Lab at UAH, we study the optical and material properties of nanomaterials, transition metals, metal-oxide plasmonic metastructures, biochemical nanosensors, and collective responses of hybrid systems consisting of metallic nanoantennas and semiconductor quantum dots. Our goals are to understand the fundamental properties of nanomaterials and explore ways to achieve novel properties that can enhance their applications and envision new device concepts. The research in Nanophotonics and Quantum Devices Lab includes long range photosynthesis-like energy circuits, single photon sources based on application of metastructures and single semiconductor quantum dots, and quantum devices. We study application of coherent processes in such hybrid systems to manipulate coherence decoherence, forming Rabi and plasmon field oscillation without damping.

GRA position in Nanophotonics: A graduate research assistantship is available for a PhD student. Please contact Dr. Sadeghi for detail.
